«Back To Homepage Biography of Betty Maina Betty Maina was born in Kenya. She is the daughter of the Reverend Francis Maina and the late Mrs. Hannah Maina. Betty has two brothers John and Michael. Betty accomplished her primary high school education in Kenya and after praying to God to give her an opportunity to further her education where she would serve him in praise and worship her prayers were answered when she got the opportunity to come and study in the United States. She attended college at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. There she successfully completed her Bachelors. She later proceeded to go for her Masters at the University of Baltimore in Maryland. She currently lives in Delaware. Music Career Betty started singing at a young age and with her dad being a minister of the gospel, she inherited a thirst for praise and worship. She realized her calling and began writing songs down on paper instead of letting them wash away in the shower. Betty not only possesses the gift of singing but the gift of worship is also deeply embedded in her soul. A major shift to her spiritual life came when she attended a KUSFA conference a few years ago. Here she met the renowned Kenyan gospel artist Rueben Kigame who inspired her to use her gift of singing without fear, and not to compare her unique gift of worship with other musicians. It is here where she started singing in different praise and worship ministries. After pursuing singing for the past eight years and after an exhausting search for the right studio to record her music, she finally had the pleasure of meeting and working with the executive producer of her first CD, a man of God by the name of Printze Ngosso, the owner of TanzAmer Production in Delaware, who recorded her first CD, entitled “ I desire to know Your Ways”. The greatest moment of this year by far is the release of her first audio CD titled “I desire to Know your ways” This CD is her plea to make it right with God. It also has a message of hope and restoration to all. There is no doubt that she is this year’s most promising worship minister and will continue to be a true model. She has already touched the lives of many. She is looking forward to a life of evangelism and serving God with all her heart.
